Coen is on the Cape York Peninsula of Queensland, just over halfway up from Cairns. It is the center of the local cattle industry, and has always been considered the logical place for establishing a significantly large township. Unfortunately it has never achieved this, and today is a sleepy village nestling between bush-clad hills.

The cemetery listing shown here is for the old Lutheran cemetery, which is still in use for selected burials. The newer one is about a kilometer away and is quite modern, and for the purposes of this site has been ignored.
