What has been added or changed?

We are constantly working on this website, and many of the changes are not immediately apparent or visible. This information page has been added to allow you to find if anything that interests you has been changed since you last visited, of if new files have been added.
This facility has been added because we discovered to our surprise that our genealogy section is considered a resource, and the people have already learned that we are constantly nibbling away at it. It's a bit like watching grass grow; several weeks go by and you need a machete!
The following changes were generally implemented at the last UPDATE DATE change. To allow for several changes happening since you were last here, this information page will be retain records of earlier changes for a period of about 2 months.

Lots of things have been happening, but it has been difficult to get the time to do the work. Several cemeteries have been added. The various SUBRITZKY files are now being collated as a single one, and believe me, that takes time.

Note that not all the genealogy files show on the main menu of Gednealogy - there are more to be seen if you click on 'Full file list'.

The Ferguson file has now been reformatted, and notes and photographs included.

Several internal links have been fixed, notably in the SHIPS section, where case sensitivity caused them to fail on-line even though they operate OK on the home computer.

The TAKAHUE cemetery file has been added.

There have been on-going updates of the headstones files. In particular, the NZ Names part is being extended as cemetery names are added. The new method of cemetery recording is simply by taking a million digital pictures and working from these at a later date.

Several errors in internal links have been fixed.

The FERGUSON file is being reformatted with DOB details reduced to years only, and while the process will take some time, you are always welcome to have a current GEDcom file. One of these is now sitting in the Downloads section.

We have been very remiss in not updating this part of the site. There have been several changes...

The sister site at Fortunecity, which had long been isolated and unable to be updated, has finally been closed.

Several new files have been added or are in the process of being added. These include HUF, ARNOLD, MIBUS, and MIRTSCHIN.

There are pictures in many of the cemetery listings, and most sites now have a GPS location.

At present most NZ genealogy files are off line while the dates are adjusted. A new Privacy Policy is being applied. In essence, dates will no longer be masked except by specific request, but all dates 1920 or later will be reduced to year only to eliminate identity fraud. No removal of names will be agreed to without very strong reasons.
