If you are travelling inland from Rockhampton to Moura you first arrive at Mt. Morgan, then over the range you come to fertile plains and straight roads, and in due course the small village of Wowan. The cemetery is on a road to the left in the center of town, and to find the cemetery it is necessary to take the first turn right after the showgrounds, then the gravel road to the cemetery is again on the right within 100m.

It is a peaceful place, quite well kept and surprisingly large, dotted with large trees. Clearly history has shaped the layout, for there are two sections, but neither appears to have any special significance. It is under the control of the Banana Shire Council, based in Biloela, some 90 km to the south.

All graves have been recorded, in spite of there being a number of relatively recent interments.
