Hamiltons (yes, spelt correctly!) is in Central Otago in New Zealand. It lies on the back (western) side of the Rock and Pillar Range, looking down on the town of Ranfurly. To get to it the easiest way is to travel to Ranfurly and take one of the feeder roads that climb the range and in due course you will find an isolated spot high enough to be at the snow line in wenter.

In its day it was used as a medical centre (Sanatorium) where people with 'incurable' or 'difficult' conditions could be treated.

The photographs for this site were collected after we set up our on-line database so we have no historical reccords to transfer and the page is being put in place for convenience and to allow other items to be added.

We have now gone to a live on-line database called MOP ('Myra's Other Place') and the records listed below are steadily being copied over.
